Book 07: Legend

The Legend of Lord Mito’lend

Summary:

No one can be exactly sure what Jeff LoAngello-Cortes was. His mother was a Banished Patroni, that was clear, and his step father, a Vampyr in disguise. It was his step father that convinced “HIM”, lord of the Vampyrs, to bestow “HIS” blessings and curse upon Jeff. The blessing of good looks and charm offset by an inability to lie, worked in and out of Jeff’s favor all the time. This was all well and great, but it’s the other half of Jeff, his father that he really yearns to know about.

According to his mother, his father was a great man, and his god father, whatever he was, watched over him day and night. His mother never told Jeff what happened to his father and why he left him with his mother alone. All he has is box filled with useful items.

  1. The letter, and it’s horrible handwriting and illegible signature yet durable paper and ink, explaining that Jeff had a father that cared for him so much that his father had to leave for Jeff’s own safety.
  2. A book of spells. This book supposedly was used and made up by the most powerful Wizards and Patroni.
  3. An interesting pair of embroidered boots from his godfather.
  4. The white wand. Jeff’s most prized possession. Their is rumor that their are only four in the world.

These are the only things that his father gave to him. Jeff fears that he will never meet his father and therefore never know who He, Jeff LoAngello-Cortes, really is.

Void of his true identity, Jeff’s existence weighs on him like a twisted, sadistic curse. Why doesn’t he know what he is and why must he be so compelled to know what it is? Why do the people around him fail to accept him no matter where he goes?

It seems that no one, including Jeff himself, is willing to accept Jeff as he appears. Jeff is half Luganish, yet far from Lugan and Affluent. He’s a Socerer who disliked by wizards and as a wand carrier, banished by Nimphs. His association with Vampyr excludes him from the Werewolves, yet the Vampyr are unwilling to accept a Vampyr slayer as one of their own. In a cold, secluded world, Jeff is left alone to fight for himself.

Shockingly after 16 years of a troubled existence, Jeff meets the very person that cursed and blessed him at child birth. “HE” the is unable to convince Jeff to join the Vampyr and instead makes Jeff a deal, that Jeff can’t refuse.

“HE” promises Jeff that “HE” will make sure that Jeff meets his father, the love of his life, and keep all his current powers and his soul for that matter. Jeff will be allowed to live with all almost all the benefits of being a Vampyr associate with out having to sign on. The catch is quite simple. All Jeff has to do for the next year is stay alive.

Easy as the task may sound, “HE” is sure Jeff can’t do it. Jeff, a young man at 16 years of age, has no family to protect him, not a friend to help, and not home to shield him. With an abundant amount of enemies, Jeff’s fate appears sealed. Unfortunately for “HIM” Jeff is not your average wizard, nor Patronis, and definitely not your average Vampyr.

Jeff is his father’s son: a great man and spirit. Moreover, Jeff is Lord Mito’lend.
