5 Million Club

My Quest to end My Boredom

Will Palin make the 5 Million club?

As the election draws closer the number of videos in the Politics and Religion has doubled. The Letterman non-interview with John McCain made the club over night.

However I’m debating whether I should remove some videos from the list. Obama’s Yes we can speech now only have 4.5 stars rating as appose to 5 stars.

In the meantime, I think that Palin’s interviews will be making the 5 million club by the end of this election.

If you haven’t seen the interviews they are truly priceless. If you’re a democrat, you’ll be laughing. If you’re not voting for neither Obama or McCain, you’ll be smacking you hand against your forehead. If you’re a republican, you’ll want to cry.

Check out the Katie Couric interview.

I hope that sxephil will talk about this on his show on Monday. The Young Turks have been lampooning her about it for days. The Daliy Show and Colbert Report has been making fun of her for weeks, but they aren’t on youtube.

So in the future, if you have a video that has either 5 million views or 1 million views and a 5 star rating, comment below.

Just a quick update.

So I’m still on the look out. I’ve been getting more help from external sources and the list just keeps on getting bigger and better.

In the mean time, I’m still working on the Generic Mini Series. So far the series is starting out slowly but hopefully the episodes will get better and better as the series progresses. That’s at least what I hope. I’ll probably will finish the next episode some time in August.

Well, I’m going to be gone for about a week so I’ll see after August 2nd. Again if you know about any video that has over 5 million hits or 1 million hits and a 5 star rating comment below.

Audacity: Good Free Software

Again with the free technology.

So After I found Moyea Swf Converter which converts swf videos to avi, I had to find some software that could record sound.

So I went searching. I didn’t do a very detailed search but I found some software that worked. It’s call Audacity. You can download it here.

It’s a basic free recording program. You can record sound and then change the pitch, alter the volume, change the speed/tempo, and remove background static easily with this software. The software can also edit existing .wav and .mp3 files too. You can also use it to make overlapping recordings. Plus, You can cut and paste sound, which is convenient.

The software is very user friendly. It treats sound much like Word treats text. Your backspace key and ctrl x work like they would in a word document. However Audacity saves files like Macromedia flash. You can save the raw sound files (.aup) so you can edit the sound with ease later. To use the actual sound file somewhere else you have to export the file as a .wav, .mp3 or Ogg Vorbis. Keeping the editable file and the finished product separate makes editing the sound files much easier and the finish product more space efficient.

Furthermore, changing the pitch and changing the speed functions actually work. This software allows you to change the speed with out affecting the pitch and vise versa. Many software products force you to change them both at the same time. For instance, if you wanted to change the pitch so it was an octave higher than before, the length of the recording would be cut in half. If you just wanted to alter a person’s voice this was bad new. Luckily, Audacity doesn’t do that.

So If you’re looking for the basics, Audacity recording software is more than sufficient. As some one who has tried numerous free recording products, this was a true catch.
